If you want Disney to make 2D animation again, then boycott the new movie Chicken Little

As you may have already heard, Michael Eisner is no longer the CEO of the Walt Disney Company. He resigned his post on September 30, 2005 and Robert Iger is the new CEO. His removal will greatly help facilitate efforts to fix all the damage he has done to the Walt Disney Company over the past Decade. One of his biggest "blasphemies" was that in late 2004 check date he closed down the Disney animation studio in Florida reducing the size of the Disney animation department significantly. And then it was announced that there would be only one more Disney feature film done in 2D. That film was Home on the Range and with it's passing ended the legacy of Disney 2D animation possibly forever. Eisner Believed that it would be best to discontinue 2D in favor of exclusively making 3D animated films. Pixar and Dreamworks had previously made hugely popular 3D animated movies, but Chicken Little is the first all Disney CGI movie. If it succeeds then Eisner's beliefs will be validated and the fate of 2D will likely be sealed. But if it fails then new CEO Robert Iger will see that Eisner was wrong about 3D being better than 2D and it will be easier to persuade him to make both 2D and 3D films. So for this reason I ask you to not see Chicken Little in the the theater when it comes out. If you must see it, then at least wait until it's in a "second run" theater or on DVD. The future of Disney animation depends on it.
